Aloha to Caridad Pineiro and AZTEC GOLD

Three times a charm for Caridad Pineiro  - she was my guest  for NATIONAL HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH and SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION.   Today I recognize her for cosponsoring the SOS Military Mixer at the RT Booklovers'  Convention.

Caridad is an American success story - here are excerpts from her bio:

Caridad PiƱeiro is a multi-published and award-winning author whose love of the written word developed when her fifth grade teacher assigned a project – to write a book that would be placed in a class lending library. She has been hooked on writing ever since.

Caridad was born in Havana, Cuba, and settled in the New York Metropolitan area. She attended Villanova University on a Presidential Scholarship and graduated magna cum laude. Caridad earned her juris doctor from St. John’s University and became the first female partner of Abelman, Frayne & Schwab, an intellectual property firm in midtown Manhattan.

When not writing, Caridad teaches workshops on various topics related to writing and heads a writing group. Caridad is also an attorney, wife and mother.

Caridad would make any excellent officer in the US Armed Forces.  While it would be natural to assign her to the JAG corps, I believe she would be an exemplary commander in Public Affairs, policy, training, and/or personnel..

How can we recruit Caridad into military service - what movie might motivate her?

Private Benjamin?

Courage Under Fire?

A Few Good Men

GI Jane?

  2. Thank you so much! I'd be honored if the military would have me. All of the movies you picked are great and it's hard to choose just one. But since they get to visit Cuba in A FEW GOOD MEN, something I've not been able to do since fleeing Castro, it might be nice just to be able to see the island. Even if across a fence and minefield.

  3. Hi Caridad! I would have to agree with you on A Few Good Men, also for the same reason, they get to go to Cuba. My dream is to one day go and see where my parents were born and grew up before leaving Cuba. Havana for my Dad and Santiago for my Mom. But I will say I also love GI Jane, I wish I was that kick ass, lol!

    Have a wonderful day!!

  5. Private Benjamin! That movie is so much fun and the heroine does make it. Although, it doesn't seem likely. Yes, the others films are very good too. What I like the most about G.I. Jane is Viggo Mortenson! LOL!
