Book Blogger Appreciation Week 2011

Aloha!  I often feel that I am a day late and a dollar short in my life.  I know that's true with blogging as I am definitely a latecomer!   As the Ancient Hawaiians would say,

Ha'ule i ka hope wa'a.
"Left in the aft of the canoe."
Said of one who comes last or is tardy.

Then again, I have learned from "the graybeards" who figured this out when blogging was in its infancy.  The ingenious bloggers have created BOOK BLOGGER APPRECIATION WEEK at this link.

This is an excellent opportunity to discover other book blogs.  Plus several bloggers are offering giveaways, including me, at this link.   To enter my giveaaway,

1.  Leave a comment - what is the most "unique" blog you visit?

2.  This giveaway is open to all readers.

3.  Comments are open through Saturday, September 17, 10 pm in Hawaii.  I'll post the winner on Sunday, September 18.

Mahalo,

Kim in Hawaii

  5. I think the most unique blog I read is by Claudie of http://claudiea.blogspot.com/ She's a biochemistry student and a YA writer, so her blog posts are always filled with the weird and wonderful of our world.

What a great question :-) I'm glad I found your blog!

  9. I would have to say yours is pretty unique! I love all the bits of history and information you add to all your posts!

  10. Honestly, Kim, I think yours is the most unique blog I visit. It offers so many views on history and current events and asks us such a wide variety of questions. That makes it very different!

If I need to supply a second choice, I’ll go with Book Lovers, Inc., based on some of the weekly features that crew has, such as casting characters from popular books, spotlighting different book genres, examining good and awful book covers, and showcasing their own bookcases!

  11. I think one of the most unique blogs I visit along with your's Kim, is Heidi Betts Blog ....http://heidibetts.com/wipsandchains/ She is so funny.

  12. I follow several author blogs and wouldn't say any are "unique" necessarily. But as far as unusual for fellow romance readers, I follow a few soccer fan sites, such as Soccer America and the Columbus Crew. :)

  13. I can think of a couple, for a book related one that I follow - Bookcase Porn - which is all about unusual bookcases.

I visited Hawaii during the summer and got to see the park in your photo above - everything there was lovely!

  14. The most unique blog I visit is Smart Bitches, Trashy Books. They are always so funny and off-beat. And their take on the romance genre is refreshingly unique.

  15. I love your blog Kim. So happy that I found it. There are so many different topics that come up....I love that. I don't follow too many blogs at the moment, though I'm going to check out some that I just found out about from your blog here. I do follow the "Murder She Writes" blog with mainly thriller, romantic suspense, mystery writers.

  16. I don't know about the unique part. All the blogs I visit are book related. A great way to add to my reading list.

  17. The two blogs I visit often is here and Bittenbybooks. Though BBB is a little more than a blog I would say. I like the Hawaiian theme of yours which makes it pretty unique.

  18. I agree that your is unique - you hit on a lot of interesting topics. Also, I am a fan of chickens in the road and the romance bandits and jaunty quills and historical romance releases (the season blog).

  19. I actually try not to visit blogs very often because I start traveling from one link to another and before you know it I've added another 10 books to my TBR pile and lost a couple of hours! I get in enough trouble just visiting SOS Aloha. (0:

  20. Following blogs can be so addicting!!! Kim, I really enjoy your blog. I've found a couple that are a bit different: Cuzinlogic, Frugal Experiments, and Broken Teepee.

  21. I follow all different kinds of blogs from book blogs, makeup blogs, nail art blogs to even cake blogs! One interesting/unique blog that I visit is Cake Wrecks and their tag line is "when professional cakes go horribly, hilariously wrong". This blog is funny and interesting because they not only feature cakes that go wrong, but also cakes that are just absolutely works of art in a feature called Sunday Sweets.

  22. Kim, honestly, it's yours. I visit just romance book blogs and yours offers me quite a bit more than just book stuff. I get to learn about all kinds of stuff too. Thanks!

  24. Unique blog? One that comes to mind is the Teeny Templeton blog. It is unique because she is a character in a book, Gone With a Handsomer Man. It's one way to connect with a character and see how they live their life.
