Christina James returns to SOS Aloha to celebrate the release of two new romantic suspense novels - WEB OF LIES (at this link) and FOR THE LOVE OF A WOMAN (at this link).
Let's play Six Degrees of Separation.
From Christina's bio, "Christina James lives in a Boston suburb with her two children. They have two very spoiled yellow labs, Comet and Sassie, who truly believe they are lap dogs even though they weigh over 100 pounds!"

Comet is one of Santa's original reindeer.
Santa arrives today in Hawaii courtesy of my friend Norm, a Coast Guard veteran who grows his beard in July.

| The Coast Guard delivers Santa |
The Coast Guard has a robust mission in Hawaii, including the islands' lighthouses. Although the lighthouses are now obsolete, the Coast Guard renovated the keeper's dwelling on Diamond Head to serve as commander's quarters for the Fourteenth Coast Guard District.

Diamond Head is an iconic landmark named by 18th century sailors who assumed the glittering calcite crystal were diamonds from a distance.
A blue diamond is the center of conflict in Christina James' WEB OF LIES:
The Mob. A Saudi prince. The police. Assassins. All chasing Amber Norris believing her ex-husband stashed the Blue Diamond, a stolen priceless Saudi Royal heirloom, with her before he was murdered. On the run with her young daughter, Amber’s only hope at survival is Detective Cody Maguire. But first she must prove her innocence to him and clear her name as a suspect in the theft and her ex’s murder. With hit men closing in, Cody and Amber are running out of time to find where a dead man hid the stolen diamond. Will they succeed in removing the bounty on her head to have a chance at love? Or will Amber’s past destroy them?
Christina has a second book to celebrate, so let's keep playing ....

Last night's rerun of NCIS included a Saudi Prince and Tony's father, played by Robert Wagner.
Robert's first film credit is 1951's HALLS OF MONTEZUMA, a story of a Marine battalion preparing to land on a Japanese held island during WWII.

HALLS OF MONTEZUMA was filmed on Camp Pendleton with the cooperation of the USMC.
Camp Pendleton in California is the USMC's training base on the West Coast; Camp LeJune in North Carolina is the Corps' training base on the East Coast.

North Carolina shares the Smokey Mountains with Tennessee.
The Smokey Mountains are the backdrop of Christina's FOR THE LOVE OF A WOMAN:
When Marly Hampton offers a handsome stranger a meal and a place to sleep, it’s only for the weekend after he breaks down in her small town on the outskirts of the Smoky Mountains. But the mysterious Mitch Allen stirs emotions in her long thought buried. A widowed, single mom raising her son, Marly has no time for romance. Or is that about to change?
Mitch won’t be staying in town any longer than it takes to repair his truck. The former Boston detective has hit the open road to run from painful memories. Falling in love is the last thing on his mind. When he’s accused of murder, Mitch comes out of retirement not only to fight for his reputation but also for the woman who has opened his heart. Can they both face a past that stands in the way of their future before they lose what could be? Or will the evil lurking nearby succeed on destroying them?

Haven't been through the Smokey Mountains since a child of five. Time to revisit, at least in a book. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI watch NCIS each week, it's one of my favorite shows.
ReplyDeleteI watch NCIS every week.
ReplyDeleteI love NCIS!!! That is one show we never miss in our house.
ReplyDeleteI would love to visit the Smokey Mountains. I have heard they are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteNCIS is my second favorite show. I'm afraid Castle made it to number 1 but it's a very close second lol.

I like watching NCIS from time to time as many episodes as I am able to watch on tv :)
ReplyDeleteI love NCIS, even the re-runs. Also love Robert Wagner and loved his Hart to Hart series. I think lighthouses are beautiful, but have never seen any 'up close and personal'.
ReplyDeleteForgot to say that I love the sound of Christina's books and have added them to my very long TBR list.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy visiting lighthouses. There are so many and some of them are haunted.
ReplyDeleteI love lighthouses. I'm a member of the US Lighthouse Society. I actually just went on a tour of the Old Point Loma Lighthouse here in San Diego. The lighthouse tower and upper floors are only open for tours one day of the year (on the anniversary of the lighthouse).
ReplyDeleteI love lighthouses also, saw some beautiful ones in Maine!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kim, for having me back. I look forward to hearing from readers. And I'm a big fan of NCIS too! I love watching any shows that include criminal investigations...makes for great research! Thank you everyone for the comments.
