Sigh. Scotland. It only seems natural that this month's reading challenge is SEMPER FIDELIS - Always Faithful. The Few. The Proud. The Marines. Veterans. Patriots. Highland Warriors. And Robyn Carr.
Robyn has been a faithful supporter of SOS Aloha. She is a New York Times' best selling author. Air Force spouse. Army mom. Robyn shares special news at www.holdoutforahero.com:
So many have waited at the military base or post, at the airport or bus depot, and know first hand how slowly those seconds tick by as they wait to bring their heroes home. Countless military families experience reunion stories on a daily basis-sometimes joyous, sometimes painful, and sometimes bittersweet.
In a response to Robyn Carr's desire to honor our men and women who serve and their families, from November 1 - December 15th, 2011, she is asking military families to submit their own homecoming stories for a chance to win amazing prizes.

In honor of Robyn's service to military families, I am giving away a print copy of Robyn's BRING ME HOME FOR CHRISTMAS to one randomly selected commenter. To enter the giveaway,
1. Leave a comment about where you'll be for the holidays - home? away? deployed?
2. My giveaway is open to all readers (Harlequin may have its own restrictions on the Hold Out For A Hero promotion).
3. Comments are open through Saturday, November 5, 10 pm in Hawaii. I'll post the winner on Sunday, November 6.
Mahalo,
Kim in Hawaii

I will be home for the holidays. My family which is a retired military family, which continues the tradition of always inviting those who would be alone into our home so they are not. I remember many holidays where we had so many extras and it makes the holiday richer.
ReplyDeleteWe used to visit my sister and her family in Florida for Christmas but these past few years we have been staying home and celebrating the holidays with my other sister, family and friends.
ReplyDeleteFor the holidays, I'll be home but we are getting together with extended family; many cousins far and wide. So, there may be a groaning houseful with plenty of young 'ens running around.
ReplyDeleteBut, I am flying out (to Philadelphia)early next week to spend a week with my oldest daughter and her family. I can't wait to wrap my arms around those three Granddaughters!
Robyn spoke at my local RWA chapter this year. She is awesome. As for us, we will be home for the holidays. We usually have a small gathering on Christmas Eve and then we go to the bigger family gathering on Christmas day.
ReplyDeleteOooo Kim!!! I love the new look. Robyn is so nice and awesomely sweet. I met her at RomCon. This year, I'll be going home for the holidays. I miss my mom's homecooking.
ReplyDeletePlease don't enter me for the giveaway. Robyn's book showed up at my door along with a few other holiday books thanks to my MIL. She signed me up for some sort of reader program. <3

We'll be celebrating Christmas at home, with our adult children and their little ones. Christmas is so special through the eyes of a child.
ReplyDeleteOur service men and women (and their families) remain in my prayers. I know they sacrifice so much for us, especially during family holidays.
I'll be celebrating at home.
ReplyDeleteThanks to all the military men and women and their families who sacrifice so much for our safety.
We will be spending the holidays with my husband's sister and her family. Have safe and Happy Holidays, everyone!
ReplyDeleteI will be at home for Christmas & New Year. I have just come back from visiting my parents up the coast.
ReplyDeleteI will be home for Christmas, but this year will be a sad one, because my grandmother died in February and my grandfather two weeks ago. So it is only my parents, my grandmother and me.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a great promotion. Our family will be together at my sister's house where we get to see my little nephews open their presents.
ReplyDeleteI'll be home for the holidays, not really going anywhere...
