Aloha to Forever's Paranormal Blog Tour (part 2): Cynthia Garner's KISS OF THE VAMPIRE

Continuing Forever's Paranormal Blog Tour, please meet Cynthia Garner.  From her bio,

My interest in writing got an early start when my sixth grade teacher told us to complete the following sentence: “It was a dark and stormy night…” With that my love of all things paranormal was born.

By day I’m a mostly mild-mannered Human Resources Manager for a local non-profit organization. I’m originally from northeast Ohio and fled the snow over ten years ago to live in the heat of southeastern Arizona.

Cynthia is celebrating the release of her first book in the Warriors of the Rift series, KISS OF THE VAMPIRE:

Warriors of the Rift

Once a generation, the rift between the paranormal world and the human world opens, allowing supernatural entities to cross. Vampire, demon, or shapeshifter, they can save the world-or send it spiraling into chaos.

Half-demon, half-human, Nix de la Fuente is accepted by neither and mistrusted by both. Determined to prove she's more human than not, she devotes herself to solving crimes between the world's mortals and its most unsavory undead. But her latest case brings her face to face with the one vampire she could never resist . . .

Called in to investigate a string of violent murders, special agent Tobias Caine isn't interested in rekindling his relationship with Nix. Yet one look and the vampire knows his need for her is as strong as ever. Once, their all-consuming passion nearly cost Nix her fragile hold on her humanity. Now, as their hunger for one another intensifies, exposing them to an unimaginable danger, it could cost them both their lives.

Kati at ROMANCING RAKES FOR THE LOVE OF ROMANCE reviewed KISS OF THE VAMPIRE for me at this link.  Elf also reviewed the book at this link.  Forever is giving away a print copy of KISS OF THE VAMPIRE plus Stella Cameron's DARKNESS BOUND to three commenters.  To enter the giveaway,

1.  Leave a comment about what you do on a dark and stormy night - watch videos?  drink hot chocolate?  read romance?

We rarely have stormy nights in Hawaii.   After my kids go to bed, I often walk around my neighborhood to admire the constellations that only we can see in Paradise!

2.  Forever's giveaway is open to US residents only.  I am giving away a Hawaiian Stars gift to one international commenter.

3.  Comments are open through Saturday, March 3, 10 pm in Hawaii.  I'll post the winners on Saturday, March 4.

Mahalo,

Kim in Hawaii

  1. I love to watch the lightning during a storm. We live on the top of a small hill and if you go upstairs you can watch the show.

  5. Thanks for the great post and giveaway!

Oh boy do we have storms here in Nebraska! Nothing's more fun than a good boomer of a thunderstorm. Especially when you can watch the storm come in. Of course, it's not so fun when the power goes out or it turns into a tornado watch but I love 'em! I usually spend some time watching them out of the window and soothing my dogs b/c they don't share my love. Then I curl up in the recliner with a dog in my lap and a good book!

  7. Hi Kim,
I’m lucky that I’ve gotten to live in a few different places in the US. In coastal Nor Cal where I grew up, we had rarely had storms. I’m currently in Arizona and we get Monsoons in the summer with thunder and lightning like you see in the movies!
I do love to have a cup of tea and read when there is a storm going on outside. And, often I’ll just pull up a chair to the window and watch the show.
    Thanks for another great giveaway,
    Shannon

  8. I love thunderstorms and if the electricity goes out, that gives me a chance to read. When my kids were small we use to play games.

  9. I just read Elf's review and loved it. I love this type of book, this is exactly the type of book I look forward to reading.

On dark stormy nights..and we get them here..I like to open the windows and doors and watching the lightning, winds and listen to the thunder. Hubby goes out in his long yellow rain coat, and hood...I'm not kidding..lol so he can stand out in the rain and watch the lightning..he loves lightning. We always have the drapes open so we can watch the sky.

  11. We had a thunderstorm earlier this evening. Have them all the time, and snow, I can send you some snow if you'd like. :)

As long as the electric doesn't go out, I sit on the couch and read, either a print book or from my kindle or from the laptop.

  12. On a stormy night I like to get under the covers and either turn on the TV and watch a movie or read a good book. I usually have some hot tea and maybe some cookies too so that I can feel snuggled in. I love to fall asleep with the sound of the rain on the roof.

    Thank you for the giveaway!

  14. I don't do anything unusual on those dark & stormy nights...but my hubby does something different. He loves to put on his rain boots (or go barefoot), get the big golf umbrella and the lantern, and go out and surveil the property. He's got to make sure the gutters are flowing and that all of his tools & "stuff" is put away. It's too funny but it's one of his endearing quirks!

  15. If its a big storm with lighting and all I will watch some of it. But otherwise I tend to curl up with a good book.
