Forever's Contemporary Romance Blog Tour (part 1): Hope Ramsay's LAST CHANCE BEAUTY QUEEN

We kick off the week with Forever's Contemporary Romance Blog Tour.   Let's first meet Hope Ramsay:

Hope Ramsay was born in New York and grew up on the North Shore of Long Island, but every summer Momma would pack her off under the care of Aunt Annie to go visiting with relatives in the midlands of South Carolina. Her extended family includes its share of colorful aunts and uncles, as well as cousins by the dozens, who provide the fodder for the characters you’ll find in Last Chance, South Carolina. Hope earned a BA in Political Science from the University of Buffalo, and has had various jobs working as a Congressional aide, a lobbyist, a public relations consultant, and a meeting planner. She’s a two-time finalist in the Golden Heart, and is married to a good ol’ Georgia boy who resembles every single one of her heroes. She has two grown children and a couple of demanding lap cats. She lives in Fairfax, Virginia where you can often find her on the back deck, picking on her thirty-five-year-old Martin guitar.

Hope is the creator of Last Chance, a small town with a big heart.  Today she is celebrating the release of the third book in the series, LAST CHANCE BEAUTY QUEEN:

Dear Reader,

Gracious me, my beautiful daughter Rocky sure could use my help. I always knew she wasn't much interested in the local boys - but who'd have thought she'd come home with English royalty?

Trouble is, Hugh wants to buy some of our folks' land. We don't want to sell, but Rocky's job depends on her closing the deal. And though Hugh's obviously smitten, I'm not sure he's right for my Rocky. Oh, he's classy and handsome - and you should've seen the way he judged pies and fixed stock cars at our Watermelon Festival! - but what do we know about him, really? I know I sound like a nervous mother hen, but after forty happy years with my Elbert, all I want is to see my little girl find the same.

Well, time for me to quit chattering and get back to Miss Bray's wet set. Always nice talking to you, and remember: the Cut 'n Curl's got hot rollers, free coffee, and the best gossip in town.

See you real soon,

Ruby Rhodes

Forever is giving away three copies of LAST CHANCE BEAUTY QUEEN plus Bella Riley's WITH THIS KISS to three US readers.  To enter the giveaway,

1.  Leave a comment about your beauty salon - does it offer more than cut and curl?

I patronize the salon on base which has a partnership with John Paul Mitchell.  I suggested to my stylist that she visit the company's farm on the Big Island which grows awapuhi.  Awapuhi is a member of the ginger root family and its juice softens hair.

2.  Forever's giveaway is open to US readers only ... but I will be on the Big Island next week.  So I offer a "Big Island" prize to one international reader.

3.  Comments are open through Thursday, March 8, 10 pm in Hawaii (so I can submit names before I depart).  I'll contact the winners on Friday, March 9 and post their names on March 18.

Mahalo,

Kim in Hawaii

  1. I have a hairdresser for the hair cutting & a beauty salon that deals with the rest. It's a never ending process.

  2. Love your new background image. I visit only my hairdresser, no beauty salons. I do everything by myself.

  6. Thanks for a great post!

I don't really go to the salon very often. I'm more of a 2x a year kinda person. I don't do a whole lot to my hair and I grow it out until I can't stand it any more then I go and get it cut. But the gal I do see rents out a bay in a salon coop and she is very sweet.

  7. The one I go to offers all sorts of services, but I've always just gotten a regular cut.

  8. My MIL is a hairstylist so I stopped going to a salon after I got married and she takes care of my hair. I've got a funky texture to my hair...when I'm in AZ it's pretty straight. When I'm in HI or coastal CA and the humidity hits it, my hair gets a lovely kinky frizz going on.
I'm going to check the link on the awapuhi.
    Have a great trip!

  10. I love my salon. I was just there and got my hair done. They also offer kids and adults haircuts. They have a massage therapist, manicures and pedicures, and tanning. It is a all-around place. I live in a small town and nice to have all of that there.
would love to win and read this book. Thanks for the chance to win.

  12. I used to go to one that was in the person's house but it was so expensive. Now I just go to one the just cuts.

  13. I use a JCP salon, although that will change when my stylist gets married and moves to NC in October. I've only had my hair cut and colored and brows waxed there, so not up on everything they do offer.

  14. Mine offers everything you could possibly want but I just get a cut.

  15. I use a lady who is the only stylist in a day spa. She moved there a few years ago. I use to love going to old salon she use to be at where all the ladies getting their cuts would chat. I miss that.
