Vicky Dreiling is a confirmed historical romance junkie and Anglophile. Frequent business trips to the UK allowed her to indulge her passion for all things Regency England. Bath, Stonehenge, and Spencer House are among her favorite places. She is, however, truly sorry for accidentally setting off a security alarm in Windsor Castle. That unfortunate incident led her British colleagues to nickname her “Trouble.” When she’s not writing, Vicky enjoys reading, films, concerts, and most of all, long lunches with friends. A native Texan, she holds degrees in English literature and marketing.
Vicky's first two books have been nominated for RWA's RITA awards:

Vicky is celebrating the release of the third book in the series, HOW TO RAVISH A RAKE:
SCANDALOUS DESIRES . . .
Amy Hardwick has one last Season to shake off her wallflower image and make a love match. If she can’t, she’ll set aside her dreams of romance and return home to a suitor who can provide security—if little else. What she doesn’t count on is the inappropriate—and irresistible—attention lavished on her in a darkened library by rake extraordinaire Will “The Devil” Darcett . . .
DEVILISH DELIGHT
When Will is caught in a tryst with the ton’s shyest miss, he knows he must offer for her hand. Yet Amy is not the shrinking violet she seems to be. Passion lies beneath her prim exterior and Will is eager to release it. But winning Amy isn’t simply a matter of seduction; first, Will must convince her that he’s mended his wicked ways . . .

Nothing that dramatic but I've been known to lock different cats up in different items - clothes dryer (not on thank goodness), inside a dresser, the garage, between the screen door and front door etc. lol.
ReplyDeleteNot exactly accident prone myself...other than that rare occasion with my car. I had my car loaded with household stuff taking it to my new home located about 35 miles away. Had my 8 yo daughter in the car with me and I was about 7 months pregnant. Well, with the windows open, some of the stuff in the backseat began to flap around...so here I am driving and trying to tuck in some of the flapping stuff. I ended up hitting a mailbox set on a steel post...hurt my car more than the mailbox post for sure. We were OK but my car's right headlight had a big bruise! LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks for a great post and giveaway!
ReplyDeleteUmmm... I'm kind of accident prone but mainly just to myself and cuz I don't have depth perception due to my bad eyesight. I usually have at least one or two bruises at all times.
Set off the alarm at Windsor Castle? No, not yet. I shall leave that adventure to you.
ReplyDeleteThere was my first, and only, ski trip, with not enough snow (or just enough grass) to ensure I never tried that again.
I do clumsy stuff all the time—tripping on this, running into that. Knock on wood, I haven’t tripped any fire alarms.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I can think of was backing into a medal box that was too low for me to see. I just scratched up the fender.
ReplyDeleteI set off the burglar alarm at the grocery store where I worked.
ReplyDeleteI just dropped my lunch on the floor today when I had cleaned the whole room yesterday night.
ReplyDeleteGenerally my accidents have been falling, tripping, etc. I am very uncoordinated so I have fallen a lot. Since falling on ice a few years back though I have been very careful. The fall messed up my back & hip so I am generally in pain and stiff so I don't forget to be careful.
ReplyDeleteSheesh Windsor Castle Funny, I am always setting off my our House alarm,Windsor Castle Did you Bolt it for the door ?
ReplyDeleteI loved How to Seduce a Scoundrel It was the first but not the last book of Vicky's I have read.
Have a great time at the RT.

For some reason I was backing up in a bookstore and fell into a big stack of books. Both the books and I landed on the floor. I had a girlfriend along with me, so of coure, we were both laughing hysterically.
ReplyDeleteI am not really accident prone but I did stand up and hit my head on a cabinet door and knocked myself out.
ReplyDeleteI've not set any alarms off either Kim. However, one day whilst leaving work with my friend, I was backing up my car so as I could pull out from my parking spot. All of a sudden, BANG. I'd backed into some nice new shiny black poles that were not there in the morning. They were three feet high and I couldn't see them. Yes, the local Council had decided to erect these poles to stop people driving into the market place. Thanks very much Cherwell District Council. I did almost $800's in damage to my rear end. My husband was not at all pleased, and neither was I.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this great opportunity. I'd love to win Vicky's latest book "How To Ravish A Rake".
I am unfortunately very accident prone, able to trip over my own feet. I have set off house alarms several times (fortunately the police at my MIL's house believed me when I said I belonged there) and have a propensity for sliding down stairs inadvertently. Thanks for visiting Vicky!
ReplyDeleteNow and then I get accidental prone. Trying to remember if something good happened from it. Nothing is coming to mind. Which is sad.
ReplyDeleteSorry, nothing is coming to mind.
ReplyDeleteSomething I did by accident... umm, literally running into somebody lol
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your RITA nominations. that is so wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit of a scatterbrain when walking in malls. I run into people because I'm window shopping and not paying attention. Walking into someone in OHio is no big deal, but in NY or LA and you take your life into your own hands!
I have never set off any alarms but I have locked myself out of the house. I'm also always losing my keys! Thanks for sharing with us! I love Vicky's books and can't wait to read this one!
ReplyDeleteMy then 4-year-old cousin once pressed the emergenc stop button on a bank of escalators and then ran off, leaving us older cousins standing there, mouths agape. Since she wasn't tall enough to be seen by the people on said escalators, we innocent older cousins were the recipients of dirty looks.
ReplyDeleteMy accidents tend to be more the foot in mouth kind. So, now I tend to try not to just blurt things out.
ReplyDeleteLove Vicky's work. Many years ago when my youngest son was graduating from Boot Camp we were introduced to his Drill Sgt.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter's and I were peaking with him and I leaned back against the wall to allow other people to walk passed us. As I came forward again I felt and heard the framed photos of previous Generals falling off the wall and the glass in the frames breaking. Well, my son came rushing through and looked at the mess and then me as he said "you didn't do that did you Mom" his drill Sgt said not to worry about as they had a room full of pics to replace them and that it happened all the time.:)
Of course when we left he walked over to my son and said I want 100 push up's now. :) When his friend laughed the DS said and you can join him . lol
I still haven't lived it down.

I seem to set the smoke alarm off quite often. lol when I'm cooking mostly, but it's not my fault...hubby likes steak and I like my pan to be hot when I sear it...so it smokes...not my fault.
ReplyDeleteopened the door of washer when the washer is stil turning the laundry because there is a clothes that i forgot to put into the machine :(
ReplyDeleteI am sooo accident prone. Today is a prime example. So far I have set off the fire alarm, cut my finger on the cheese grater, burned my thumb on the oven, and locked my keys in the Jeep. Yeah... all before 9:30am. It's going to be a long one! :)

ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great time at the RT Booklovers' Convention!
My sons still kid me about how when they were young I had a habit when I got flustered of calling them our pets names!
At the time we only had one car and that meant when my husband was on active duty in the Navy Reserves I had no transportation! I had to do any grocery shopping, etc. before he left and since there was no local transportation it would be the three of us and the pets enclosed in the house! Of course the the weather never cooperated and the hardest time was when we had a heavy snowstorm, lost power and I had to cart wood into the house to keep a fire going - we even ended up making dinner over the fire to have hot soup to help us keep warm.
After three days of no power, dwindling food supplies and not only 2 craky little boys but a 2 cats and one very large dog I had to take outside for "walks" (along with buddling up the two little ones in snow suits and boots) I think I should have been declared a saint!
They are both fathers now and I think finally they are beginning to understand!
I have a habit of setting off the alarm in my house. I'm always in a hurry and I just forget about it. I'm on a first mane basis with the security people.
ReplyDeleteHave fun at RT.

Something I have done by accident is definitely something that happens all the time , I tend to figure out how to do something on a computer programme that I did not know how to do in the first place it is almost like being our own IT specialist !
ReplyDeleteThx for the awesome interview and the giveaway !
One of the things that I did by accident is something to this day that I can't figure out how it happened. I was fixing a sandwich for my husband's lunch one morning. Everything went well, or so I thought. That night when my DH came home, he asked how I managed to get both pieces of bread mayonaise side out. Lol!

I accidentally tripped over something.
ReplyDeleteStonehenge, now that would be on my list of things to see if I ever get over there.
ReplyDeleteCan't say I have done anything on accident quite like setting off alarms at a huge public attraction. But one funny accident happened at camp, we were playing a dodge ball type game. Well we must have been a little too close to some building because just as I was chucking a ball an unlucky kitchen worker with pitchers of lemonade was walking off to the side of the action...well not enough "to the side" for my ball. We didn't get lemonade for snack that day.
I'm a bit of a klutz, so most of my accidents are of the falling variety. I think the worst one was when I went into to hug my grandmother and somehow got my feet tangled up with hers. We both ended up toppling to the (thankfully, carpeted) floor. It was lucky she didn't break a hip or anything! She laughed it off, called me an "enthusiastic bunny", and my family has never let me live it down. My brother still yells "Timber!" when I go in to hug someone!

I accidentally left my daughter at work for over an hour after her shift was finished, forgetting I was supposed to pick her up.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I forgot to leave you my email, I'm not sure if you need it with openID or not.
