Gina Robinson is celebrating the release of DIAMONDS ARE TRULY FOREVER, the second book in her Agent Ex series:
Staci Fields loves her gorgeous husband—and that’s the honest truth. Unfortunately, her inability to lie is a major liability for the wife of a CIA agent. During a previous mission, her loose lips nearly got her husband killed. So now Staci’s filing for divorce to keep him out of danger—no matter how much her lips still crave his kiss…
Drew Fields knows that his wife doesn’t want to play the spy game anymore. But when he learns that Staci may be a pawn in her stepfather’s secret dealings with terrorists, he has no choice but to step back into her life. This time, the stakes are higher than ever. The closer he gets to Staci, the deadlier the odds. And the more he loves his ex, the more he has to lose…
Let's play six degrees of separation ....
1. Gina Robinson was born in Baltimore, Maryland.
2. In 2009, my family moved from Baltimore to Honolulu.
3. Honolulu's iconic symbol is Diamond Head.
4. Diamond Head is the "haole" (white man) name for the upper ridge of the volcanic crater. Hawaiians refer to it as Le'ahi, possibly because it resembles the dorsal fin of an ahi (tuna). 19th century British sailors named it so as they assumed the twinkling calcite crystals were diamonds.
5. British sailors and other military personnel "mustered" to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee.
6. Diamonds represent longevity as diamonds are truly forever.

The Avengers is one of my favorite spy shows which I discovered a few years ago on BBC America. Diana Rigg was amazing as Emma Peel.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite spy or Secret Agent has to be Maxwell Smart. GET SMART is still very funny to watch.
ReplyDeleteOh, I am such a sucker for spy stories -- movies, books, tv! I love them all. But I think to pick a favorite, I'd have to go back mumblety-mmppphh years to an old television series, Secret Agent, with Patrick McGoohan. He was everything I imagine a real secret agent is -- he could be a debonair playboy one week and a nerdy geek the next. Totally disappear into whatever he needed to be to get the job done.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your latest book, Gina!
I don't usually read "Spy" stories. However, I recently came across this book and really enjoyed it. The Seduction of Phaeton Black by Jillian Stone (2012, Paperback.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read spy stories, but I do love a good movie. Reading these posts about Maxwell Smart brought back memories. I used to love watching Get Smart as a child. I would pretend to be Agent 99.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite spy has to be James Bond. I Love Bond. I am torn between Roger Moore and Sean Connery. I love them both! I am eagerly waiting for Daniel Craig's Bond in the upcoming movie. I hope he lives up to what I have in my head.
Mel
My favorite spy TV shows was Mission Impossible and Get Smart.
ReplyDeleteThe Spy Who Loved Me by Joanna Bourne is my favorite spy book.
i love lord and lady spy by shana galen
ReplyDeleteI dont usually read or watch spy stories, but would have to say Remington Steele - was that a spy one? If not Get Smart - loved the humor.
ReplyDeleteLooks like we enjoyed the same spy book Eli, Lord and Lady Spy by Shana Galen (last good spy book I read).
ReplyDeleteI loved Mission Impossible for the great action and suspense, Get Smart for the laughs and James Bond for the girls and exotic settings. lol
Thanks for the opportunity to enter giveaway.

Thanks for a great post and giveaway! Oh wow... some awesome comments... Remmington Steele brings back memories :)
ReplyDeleteFor books: I loved, loved, loved Lord and Lady Spie by Shana Galen
for movies: Salt w/ Angelina Jolie
For TV: Remington Steele
On TV, I used to enjoy Alias. For books, Lord and Lady Spy (Shana Galen) is a good one and the series Allison Chase has about female spies for Queen Victoria is good. Lots and lots of movie spys...James Bond tops that list.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite, as the one that got me hooked, is Above Suspicion (the book, not the movie) by Helen MacInnes.
ReplyDeleteHunt for Red October is one of my favorites. Or the Bourne series. And of course many of the James Bond movies. And tons more lol.
ReplyDeleteDaniel Silva's books are really good!
ReplyDeleteI love James Bond movies. Each one who portrayed him brought something different
ReplyDeleteFor me it would be the movie about the spy (who's wife has no idea he is a spy) Killers really funny and very entertaining.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I know it's terrible, but I seriously enjoyed Mr. & Mrs. Smith. I realize its where Brangelina met and ended up being ground zero for one of the biggest celebrity marriage debacles in recent memory - but you have to admit, the story was pretty awesome. And as much as I want to hate Angelina, the chick kicks serious ass.

I love True Lies and The Avengers with Steed and Mrs. Peel and Bond of course!
ReplyDeleteBut I can't help but think that Jason Bourne played by Matt Damon is the one that I would want to get me out of a bad situation. He's not only a great spy, but being a woman, I can't help but think my chances to stay alive and for him to look out for me would def. be better than the others.
I Spy... with Robert Culp and Bill Cosby.. my favorite! but #2 was Get Smart!!!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy Joanna Bourne's historical spy stories. The characters are pretty amazing :) I realize I haven't read many contemporary spy books and need to.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite spy book right now is Lord and Lady Spy by Shana Galen, fell in love with both of these spies and have been addicted to spy novels ever since.
ReplyDeleteWell done on the six degrees! This book sounds great, and a well written review for it. Love the trying to protect the man by shoving them away, never works and it is so much fun =)
I love James Bond -- Sean Connery and Roger Moore. Also Get Smart is hilarious with Maxwell Smart and Agent 99.
ReplyDeleteI like the James Bond movies.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite would be the mini-series starring Sam Neill, REILLY: ACE OF SPIES. Based on the true life story of the British secret agent Sidney Reilly. If you haven't seen this one, put it on your list.
ReplyDeleteI like Joanna Bourne's stories about spies.
