[Danny] Summer lovin' had me a blast
[Sandy] Summer lovin' happened so fast
[Danny] I met a girl crazy for me
[Sandy] Met a boy cute as can be
[Both] Summer days driftin' away, to uh-oh those summer nights
Summer is here, bringing us carefree days and sizzling nights. So grab your beach bag, sun block, and Kate Angell's NO TAN LINES:
There's a place where the ocean meets the shore, where kicking off your shoes and baring some skin is as natural as sneaking under the boardwalk for an ice cream cone and stolen kisses. But life isn't all a beach for Shaye Cates, even if her idea of an office is a shady umbrella at the water's edge equipped with cell phone and laptop. Steely-eyed Trace Saunders is the incredibly irksome fly in her coconut tanning oil. And running a kids' softball team with her long-time rival is going to have everyone in her little Florida town buzzing. Her scads of laid-back relatives and his whole uptight clan know that Shaye just wants to play ball while Trace thinks only of business. But beneath the twinkling lights of the ferris wheel, the magic of sea and sand can sweep away every inhibition...Suddenly, it's summertime, and the lovin' is easy.
I posted my review of NO TAN LINES on Amazon at this link and Goodreads at this link. I am a giving away Hawaiian beach gift pack to one randomly selected commenter. To enter the giveaway,

My favorite part of summer is all he flowers. Here in Alberta we have approx. 6 months of winter so to see and smell all the colors of summer is a feast for the heart
ReplyDeleteI love that I finally get to wear sandals.
ReplyDeleteGeishasmom73 AT yahoo DOT com
No shoveling snow or having to wear a ton of clothes or worrying about driving on ice!!
ReplyDeleteThe summer blockbusters is one of the reasons I love summer. I can't wait to see The Dark Knight Rises and The Bourne Legacy with Jeremy Renner.
ReplyDeleteSummer means the beach. I just love it. I could walk along the edge of the ocean collecting shells all day.
ReplyDeleteI love the lushness of my garden. Flowers and green everywhere. Combined with lots of sunshine it's a little part of heaven to me.
ReplyDeleteI love to remember the summers of my youth and the wonderful sense of FREEDOM. No early mornings, no school, no homework, no heavy winter clothing, and plenty of investigating the neighborhood, the area parks, and other kids/friends in the area.
ReplyDeleteI love no school!! Time to recover before a new year begins
ReplyDeleteIt's the beauty of all those flowers and mostly the SUN. I love feeling the sun on me. Especially at the beach. The laziness of it all.

I love sitting outside in my backyard and having my friends join us. I love floating in my cleopatra chair reading in my pool.
ReplyDeleteI like being able to read on my back porch and watch the butterflies on my butterfly bush.
ReplyDeletesunrise and ice cream :)
ReplyDeleteFinally! giving up the snow boots, the snow coat, the snow shovel, see a pattern here? It's warm outside and I'm no longer wearing long underwear!!! YEA!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the longer days, going to the beach, swimming in the pool, and spending time with friends.
ReplyDeleteI think I like being able to go outside with out getting gloves, jacket and scarf on. lol
ReplyDeleteNo classes! ;>
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, Air Conditioning is quite high on my list of things to love during the summer. Spending time with the grandkids tops the list, though.
ReplyDeleteJust popping in to say what a great book this is. I was lucky enough to read an early copy of No Tan Lines and loved every page. Wonderful new series, amazing characters. Lots of fun. Readers will want to move to Barefoot William.
ReplyDelete*Please don't enter me in the drawing. Just wanted say how much I enjoyed No Tan Lines. (also loved Sweet Spot)
My favorite part of summer is the air conditioning. Lol!
ReplyDeleteI also love the flowers, watching birds, sunsets, and getting ice cream.

Kim - thanks so much for mentioning No Tan Lines and Sweet Spot today! I'm smiling. I'd love to add a giveaway as well. A $25.00 Amazon digital gift card to a winner drawn at random. Lots of wonderful summer books to buy!
ReplyDeleteEmail me Kim - I hope this works for you.

We can travel to see our friends without worrying about bad snow weather up North. I love watching the grandchildren swimming and playing outside, instead of being stuck insides.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed finding out about the books!!

I love the summer because you can leave your windows open, and feel the breezes coming in the windows especially at night, hanging clothes on the line and the smell of them when you bring them in, sunsets and rainbows after a storm, hearing the birds singing late at night and early in the mornings, the smell of fresh mowed grass, and catching fireflys with my grand-daughters. Such special memories.
ReplyDeleteThe sunshine, flowers, warm weather, walking dogs in the cool of the morning, and watching the birds come to have dinner.
ReplyDeleteI love the flowers and the birds.
ReplyDeleteI love the beautiful flowers trees and scrubs and the smells of lilacs, gardenias, honeysuckle and other sweet smells. Of course I also love the beach especially walking in the ocean and on the sand while looking for shells and the sound of the waves crashing on shore. To me the beach has always been a relaxing time where you can sleep so great. Liked you review on Amazon Kim. Thanks for the opportunity to enter giveaway.

Hi Kim!
ReplyDeleteNow what can I possibly say to someone who lives in Hawaii about what I love about summer?
On the other hand that's easy - NO SNOW! NO SHOVELING! NO SIDEWALKS TO SHOVEL! NO WEARING A HEAVY SWEATER AND CARRYING IN WOOD FOR THE WOOD STOVE AND FIREPLACE!
I finally can sit outside in my backyard to read instead of sitting at the kitchen table looking outside wishing for warmth and sunshine.
I love hot weather which means when it's hot the air conditioner doesn't get turned on until my husband gets home. He blames it on me going to college in Arizona and then moving to Florida before we moved here when he got out of the Navy in 1971. Did I mention I didn't have air conditioning in either of my apartments?
So bring the sunshine and hot weather on! Yeah it's summer!
My favorite part of summer is all the beautiful flowers and trees, not having to wear alot of clothes and enjoying the sun. Tore923@aol.com
ReplyDeleteWhenever it's summer, I always seemed to lose weight. I lose my appetite whenever it's hot. What better way to look great.
ReplyDeleteSummer used to mean freedom; now it means alot hotter weather because I now live in Florida. It means its hurricane season; lived thru Andrew in '92 in Miami - terrible experience, devastating for Homestead, FL. Now summer means MUCH higher electric bills because A/C runs 24/7. summer means lighter days. Summer means running from air conditioned house to air conditioned cars. Summer is midway point of the year/seasons. Fall is better.
ReplyDeleteI live the opposite of you, Kim, in the high desert of California. We do have the lovely flowers of summer with the hummingbirds fussing over them, and, the feeders we put out. My Jasmine bush/vine perfumes the whole neighborhood for May & June.
ReplyDeleteI do love the ocean (about 2hrs.drive)& just like others, we try for an "ocean fix" in summer. The salty breeze, kiddies musical voices raised in joy at either a wave about to "get"them or maybe a sand castle they'd labored on for hours. Love, love it! One would think I'd have all the sand I'd ever need in the desert, but it is different!
Also, we see the snow on the San Gabriell mountains, getting our "snow fix" that way! :)
"No Tan Line" sounds like a good summer read. Congratulations!
Beautiful flowers, hummingbirds, and fresh vegetables from our garden!
ReplyDeletemlawson17 at hotmail dot com
What I love is all the beautiful sunshine, the flowers, the lazy hazy days of summer (to quote an old song).
ReplyDeleteI love the beach and more family get togethers. I love spending time with my family.
ReplyDeleteI love that there is no snow to shovel; that we don't have to wear sweaters, coats & gloves; that the daylight lasts longer; the fresh local fruits & veggies.
ReplyDeleteWhat I love is the fun we have on our family vacation to my mother-in-laws home.
ReplyDeleteomahablack at yahoo dot com
I always like having the children home from school and being able to spend more time with them. It is like weeks of play days and special outings. They are all grown now, but I get to have the grand children over.
ReplyDeleteOne thing we have always enjoyed and still do is our garden. Nothing beats fresh produce from our garden. So far this year we have had asparagus, strawberries, broccoli, leeks, raspberries, and tonight we picked peas. I always look forward to the first batch of green beans and the tomatoes.
I love the way the Sun feels on your Skin The warm sand feels between your toes, The coolness of the water, Laughter of Children playing.... Building a fire watching fire flies light up the sky.
ReplyDeleteThe BIG BRAWN MUSCLE 6 & 8 PAC ABE'S <3 :-)
Kates a new to me Author Of late I am Straying from my Highlanders (Shush I am enjoying them too_ So Not Tan lines sound like a great read putting it on my TBB list.
Have a good one. Ann/alba
I love the longer days and the chances to get outdoors and have fun in the summer.
ReplyDeleteSummer in Alberta not only means no snow, but it means hiking through the mountains, swimming at the lake, barbequing in the backyard with friends and family, and sitting on a sunny porch to enjoy my two favourite things -- reading and a glass of wine.
ReplyDeleteI used to sing along to the soundtrack of Grease...
ReplyDeleteThe longer days are a plus. The sun is, too.
Thanks for the blast from the past. Now I have this song stuck in my head!! I love it!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about summer is spending it with my boys outside. There are so many things to do.
Mel
The. Great food and time with the family

I love summertime and spending quality time with my kids. Every year I take a week or so off of work and we do all the touristy things.

ReplyDeleteI have been to Hawaii two times and love that it never gets over 90 and there is always a breeze - or at least when I have been there. I do not live in a state with ocean/sea borders. But I do live in a great place with wonderful examples of all four seasons. Summer is aglow here with sun, sky, flowers, and all the greens of summer with lazy days that go on and on. Thank you very much for this contest and all the great books. I would love to be the one chosen for this contest. Happy summer. Helen in Ark.
ReplyDeleteI love lots of things....My anniversary kicks it off...it's today the 1st and it's #21 for us. I like baseball, being able to go outside in the warmth and sleeping at night and having the breeze blow over me from the window and the smell of lavender and honeysuckle.
ReplyDeleteZ
Summer - warmer weather, longer daylight, going outside a lot w/out a heavy coat, sitting outside reading and open windows at night when there is a cool breeze and blueberries/raspberries/strawberries....
ReplyDeleteI grew up on Long Island, NY and moved 500 miles away when I married. I MISS SWIMMING IN THE SALT WATER more than I can say. Sitting on the beach, looking out on the water is the most relaxing thing in the world. I also feel closer to my Mom (who passed away in 1993) because of the wonderful memories from my childhood at the Beach.
ReplyDeleteI spent my early childhood on both coast (Dad was a Marine)Camp Pendleton and Camp LeJuene. I remember summer meant the beach. swimming and body surfing. Days spent with friends swimming, picnics and just lazy days.
ReplyDeleteSummer is suntan lotion, kids laughing, watermellon, popsicles and sweet tea!
Aloha! I lived on Oahu for 2 years. My hubby's in the Navy. I'm going to be honest and say there is absolutely nothing I enjoy about summer. I look forward to the fall. That's my favorite season. I've never read anything by Kate. I'd like to start with NO TAN LINES. It appeals to me greatly.

What I like about the summer is getting to go visit my sister who lives by the beach...since it gets extremely hot in the summer where I live, I always enjoy going some place cool.
ReplyDeleteJWIsley(at)aol(dot)com
I like the nice weather we have in the summer...I'm not fond of cool weather... I'm a sun-lover. I also enjoy being a tourist and visiting other places during the summertime.
ReplyDeleteJFWisherd (at)aol(dot)com
I have always loved the freedom of summer. I grew up in the suburbs of Philly and there were still places that were wild (woods). My older brother would take me early in the morning before the others (I'm one of 9 siblings)were awake to explore in those woods. Mom was OK with our wandering as long as we showed up for lunch and dinner. We were even allowed back out at night until the street lights came on...between 8 and 9 PM. It was such a feeling of timelessness and freedom that I still cherish. I try to capture that for my granddaughter who spends most of the summer with me.
ReplyDeleteLiving where I do now I like the warmth & that I don't have to get up & take my lil guy to school. I still have to get up & work but not having to coax him into gear makes my day easier!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance!

My favorite thing about summer is that I can be outdoors with NO JACKET! Swimming, metal detecting, gardening, anything outside ( with low humidity ;) )

I love the warm weather, having the windows open, wearing sandals and shorts and reading outside.
ReplyDeleteI like the sunshine and going to the beach.
ReplyDeleteSummer days driftin away...
ReplyDeleteNow I am going to have that song in my head all night long, I just know it.
=)
I love sitting out on my deck with my hubby, some fun fruity drink in hand, lanters glowing, dog at my side (panting like he is going to croak from the heat, he is a husky and like me loves the snow). I can only hope for more of those peaceful nights, never get enough =)
Kim,
ReplyDeleteI like your choice of movies! DD#2 and I can just about sing the soundtracks to both of the movies!
What's not to like about summer, well, except fot the mosquitoes. Yuck. The best is fresh garden tomatoes. Pick em,wash em, eat em - yum!
Thanks for the review, makes me want to read No Tan Lines, even more. I love that song from Grease and can never resist singing along. lisagk(at)yahoo(dot)com
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of summer is just relaxing in my pool, or reading a book out in the backyard while watching my nephews & nieces play. And I love all the family cook-outs that we have during the summer, spending time with the family and enjoying our time together.
ReplyDeleteThe slower pace--who wants to run in heat (as her neighbors jog by).
ReplyDeleteI HATE summer. I live in the Southeast. Summer means heat, humidity, tourists, traffic, mosquitos, crowds at the beach, deer flies...etc...
ReplyDeleteOne thing that I DO like is that at work, we work half days on Fridays. That's fun.
I know some people think it may be strange, however, I love cutting the grass and puttering around pruning bushes, I like travelling around the area to the different markets is also a favourite of mine.
ReplyDeleteI love the sun and sitting outside in a nice comfy lawn chair and relaxing. Sitting being comfortable with a good book.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great giveaway. This is a new author for me. Love the title and cover of this book.
