Aloha to Stefanie Sloane and THE SAINT WHO STOLE MY HEART (part 2)

Please join me in welcoming Stefanie Sloane for a cozy chat about her Regency Rogues!  From her bio (at this link),

A native Northwesterner with the pale skin to prove it, Stefanie credits her parents’ eclectic reading habits—not to mention their decision to live in the middle of nowhere—for her love of books. A childhood spent lost in the pages of countless novels led Stefanie to college where she majored in English. No one was more surprised than Stefanie when she actually put her degree to use and landed a job in Amazon.com’s Books editorial department. She spent over five years reading for a living before retiring to concentrate on her own stories. Stefanie currently resides with her family in Seattle.

Kim:  You debuted with three back to back books in a very popular genre - Regency romance.  What did you learn from this experience?

Stefanie:  That it’s a lot of hard work! Seriously, though, writing three books within the sort of time constraints required of a back-to-back-to-back release is an enormous undertaking. I learned that scheduling is incredibly important, accepting help from others is a good thing, and chocolate cures most any ailment, including exhaustion and writer’s block.

Kim:  Ah, chocolate.  It is the reason why Belgians eat dessert first!   I love spies!

Stefanie:  I love spies too! I’ve always been a sucker for a good thriller that featured a handsome undercover agent. The only problem? Too often said handsome man doesn’t ever get any love—not true love, anyway. So I set out to rectify the sad and unnecessary situation!

Kim:  Tell us about THE SAINT WHO STOLE MY HEART!

Stefanie:  I am thrilled to introduce Dash and Elena to readers. I learned quite a bit while writing THE SAINT and I hope that their adventurous and passionate tale resonates with those who adore romance. Here’s a sneak peek:

Possessed of a brilliant mind and a love for puzzles, Dashiell Matthews, Viscount Carrington, is a crucial member of the elite Young Corinthians spy league. Assuming the façade of an addle-brained Adonis, he hunts for a notorious London murderer known as the Bishop. When fate causes him to cross paths with Miss Elena Barnes, Dash discovers an enigma that will prove delightfully intoxicating to unravel: a voluptuous beauty as intelligent as she is fearless.

Only the lure of a collection of rare books bequeathed to her family by Dash’s late father could tempt Elena from her cozy rural life to the crush and vanity of London. But if Elena finds his lordship to be the most impossibly beautiful man she’s ever seen, he also seems to be the stupidest. Which made her body’s shameless response to his masterful seduction all the more unfathomable. Yet when she discovers Dash’s mission to track the dangerous Bishop, she willingly risks everything—her trust, her heart, her very life—to join him.

Kim:  What's next for Stefanie Sloane?

Stefanie:  Right now I’m in the middle of revisions for THE SCANDAL TAKES A BRIDE, the fifth installment in my Regency Rogues series. SCANDAL stars a somewhat tortured hero and the amazing woman who saves him, a relationship that was an absolute pleasure to write. Let’s hope readers enjoy reading about Nicholas and Sophia as much as I enjoyed writing their happily ever after!

  1. For me cheesecake would be my recommendation. Plain and unadorned - nothing to detract from its own taste. Spy stories are one of my favorites as well.

  3. as strawberries are coming into season, gotta include those. so how about a strawberry "shortcake" of angel food cake (fresh & light -even if from a mix - not the heavy stuff they often sell in the store), fresh slightly sweetened berries, lots of creamy whipped cream :) yum

  4. I’m sure my favorite desserts wouldn’t have been available at that time. For Lady Mowbray’s table, I would recommend a lovely lemon custard tart, topped with fresh berries—preferably raspberries.

  5. Favorite desserts? Welll my mother's cousin, she always made this one that was so damn decadant: chocolate pudding, cream cheese, whipped creams, nuts on a cheesecake crumb bottom. Oh man oh man oh man that was delicious. Think I gained ten pounds thinking it.

  6. A simple and delicious dessert from Britain would be "Eton Mess". My youngest daughter made it and I love strawberries and cream anyway so it was a win win dessert for me. :)Here's a link for several simple recipes if you're interested. I'm sure Mrs. Mowbray has already had it. lol

  8. I would recommend a local recipe of our country, it's called "Halo Halo" (Mixed in English)It's a healthy dessert because it is made up of different fruits that complements with each other and goes well with Summer. It consists of mango, banana, gelatin, ripe jack fruit, sweet corn or chick peas , shredded coconut, sweet yams, shaved ice, milk with ice cream and chopped peanuts as toppings. It's also a no-need-to-bake dessert. Simple and easy. :D

  23. Peach crumble with vanilla ice cream. Probably not available, but she should invent time travel to get to it! There's just something so sinfully wonderful about the aromatic, floral peaches mixing in with the cool, milky ice cream...I think I'm drooling!

  24. Well I am glad you can handle all the stuff that goes along with releasing three books back to back =) I am also a sucker for spies, they just scream sexy and untouchable.
Chocolate is so a cure all, though there are some other yummy ideas posted! I would pick chocolate mousse, it is light and airy so you can eat a lot of it. But if its a very good chocolate it hits the spot perfectly.

  25. Anything with chocolate in it....right now I'd say a big warm chocolate chip cookie with ice cream on top. Yummy!
