Aloha to Laurel McKee's ONE NAUGHTY NIGHT

On this date in 1837, King William IV died and his niece, Princess Victoria, ascended to the throne.  During her reign, the United Kingdom thrived during the Industrial Revolution and its empire expanded.   Yet Queen Victoria also brought a certain modesty to the throne after her uncles lived rakish lives.

Ah, family.   Blood is thicker than scandal sheets and family feuds.   Regency favorite Laurel McKee is celebrating her new family, the Scandalous St. Claires, with the first book in the series, ONE NAUGHTY NIGHT:

A hundred years has passed since the bitter rivalry between the St. Claires and the Huntingtons began.

But in London, the feud goes on . . .

UNDER THE COVER OF NIGHT, NOTHING IS FORBIDDEN
Lily St. Claire will do anything for the family that saved her from the streets. With their support, the young widow has become the hostess of The Devil's Fancy, London's most exclusive gaming den. She's determined to restore the St. Claire family fortune, lost a century before to the despised Huntington clan. But a ghost from her past may be her ultimate undoing . . .

Lord Aidan Huntington is handsome and wealthy, with a taste for adventure and a reputation for wickedness. A gambler and a rake, Aidan can't resist a seductive woman with secrets - but one naughty night with Lily leaves him wanting more. As Lily is drawn into London's dark underworld by an old enemy, Aidan will risk everything to save the woman who has awakened his deepest desires.

I posted my review of ONE NAUGHTY NIGHT on Amazon at this link and Goodreads at this link.  I am giving away a print copy of ONE NAUGHTY NIGHT to one randomly selected commenter.  To enter the giveaway,

1.  Leave a comment about the theater - do you have a talent for acting, singing, dancing, or even sewing costumes?  I don't ... that's why I appreciate anyone that does!

2.  This giveaway is open to all readers.

3.  Comments are open through Saturday, June 23, 10 pm in Hawaii.  I'll post the winner on Sunday, June 24.

Mahalo,

  1. I don't have a talent for singing or dancing, but I wish I did. I'm amazed by the talent some have to be able to act, dance and sing at the same time.

  2. I make a superb member of the audience. No talent in this regard whatsoever.

  3. OMG... absolutely no talent and a severe case of stage fright... but I've always enjoyed the theatre. We live in a college town and have Broadway shows every year! My hubby just retired from teaching and everyone asks if we're going to move... Why would we move? big city stuff with a small town size!

  4. I have no talent at all. I thought I could sing until the cats run and hide!! LOL

  5. I don't have any talent whatsoever. I can remember years ago when I was a teenager. Our neighbor told my Mum that I sounded like a "cat in agony" when I was trying to sing. I'm always appreciative of people now that can sing, dance and act.

Please don't enter me into the contest as I already have this book.

  7. Hi Kim and Laurel!

I've seen the the pictures of Princess Victoria before and it still makes me grin! The funny thing is that I can remember that being one of my mother's saying when I was a teenager 50 years ago!

I can't believe I missed hearing before now that One Naughty Night was released on the 12th! Laurel, I love your books but somehow had missed seeing the release date was earlier this month. I just made sure that would never happen again and popped over to your website to sign up for your newsletter.

I'm thrilled that One Naughty Night is coming out before Christmas - shopping list for family and friends completed!

The only one in our family that has a talent for acting and singing is my oldest son but then he's loved hamming it up since the day he was born! On the other hand my younger son can sure dance a mean Charleston jive and just about any other dance move. Since I wanted their future wives to love me I also taught them both how to sew (much appreciated skill that my daughter-in-laws appreciate)!

  8. No, the closest I got to 'the theater' was appearing on one TV episode of ANOTHER WORLD. No speaking lines, just wore my Candy striper uniform in a hospital scene. My neighbor was Joseph Rothenberger, a producer. It was fun for an 18 year old!

  10. I use to be able to carry a tune while in the school choirs but that was many, many years ago so I would have to say, no real talent. I had enough artistic talent to help decorate for school dances and the such.

  11. No acting or singing for me...except for singing to my dog when nobody else is home. My step daughter can sew very elaborate costumes which are very cool.

  12. I have been very involved in theater in the past. I can sing, dance, and act.

  13. I have none of those talents! I do enjoy going to the theater though.

  14. I have no talents whatsoever, but with a little practice I might be able to help sew costumes. :D I can sew a fairly straight seam, but that's about the extent of my sewing expertise as well. I greatly admire anyone, whether talented or not, who can get up before an audience and perform to the best of their ability, I'd be a nervous wreck.

  15. I used to act but am not good enough to go any further.

  16. I was an official Thespian when I was in high school and won regional awards for acting. But once I got into college other things distracted me. :)

  17. I don't know about any of that stuff.

  18. When God was showering the talent for singing and dancing, I was asleep. I can't sing and I look awkward while dancing. Maybe I can act a bit since I won a Best Acting award in high school. ;<

  19. Can't dance - couldn't carry a tune in a bucket - couldn't write my self out of a paper sack!! I sure do admire people that can, though.

  20. I used to do theater in college. I did lots of Deaf theater. Usually I was on stage as a main character or a supporting character. Now I just work on costumes and set designs for our church. It is wonderful.
