From the Merriam Webster Dictionary (at this link), luscious is defined as:
- having a delicious taste or smell
- sexually attractive
- richly luxurious or appealing to the senses
Hmm ... that sounds like Sophia Loren! Perhaps Sophia can provide some advice for recent divorcee Olivia Marconi in Amanda Usen's LUSCIOUS:
A sizzling second book in a new contemporary series featuring sexy chefs. Newly divorced chef Olivia Marconi is balanced on the knife-edge of a major meltdown. A week in Italy with Sean, her hot divorce attorney–not to mention the fantastic food and wine–sounds like the perfect getaway. If only she wasn’t there to break her parents’ hearts by quitting the family business. Sean’s attention makes her feel brave, desirable, and adventurous again. But Sean is hiding something, and Olivia is short on trust these days. Can a romantic interlude in Italy turn into something more, or will it all go up in smoke?

So open a bottle of your favorite wine and let me share Sophia's top five tips for a luscious life:
1. After all these years, I am still involved in the process of self-discovery. It's better to explore life and make mistakes than to play it safe. Mistakes are part of the dues one pays for a full life.
2. Beauty is how you feel inside, and it reflects in your eyes.
3. If you haven't cried, your eyes can't be beautiful.
4. There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age.
5. Spaghetti can be eaten most successfully if you inhale it like a vacuum cleaner.

I usually have it with bolognese sauce and must admit to being a slurper.
ReplyDeleteI like spaghetti with a lot of sauce. I don't swirl, just pick up as much as I can with my fork.
ReplyDeleteI love pasta, especially spaghetti. I generally eat it with lots of sauce and try to twirl it (although I generally end up dropping some at least once). I also love it with lots of garlic bread/toast.
ReplyDeleteI make a great Spaghetti Bolognese, if I do say so myself. I usually cut up the spaghetti with a knife & then use a spoon to eat it.
ReplyDeleteI always swirl!!!!! I love spaghetti with butter, any sauce, in soup or baked in the oven like a pie.
ReplyDeleteI eat my spaghetti with meatballs and a bolognese sauce. After I cook the spaghetti, I always melt butter on top and mix it in, along with black pepper too, before adding the sauce on top.
ReplyDeleteI was taught to swirl and I definitely prefer tomato sauce!

ReplyDeleteAlthough I live in Italy, I don't eat much pasta, but I can't say no to spaghetti alla bolognese with parmesan cheese. And I use only fork. There was this place in my town where one portion of spaghetti alla bolognese was 400 g per person (instead of usual 80-100 g). Believe it or not, but it was always crowded.
ReplyDeleteOh My God, now I'm hungry! Spaghetti, my favorite food of all. I eat mine with plenty of cheese, meatballs and sauce then swirl it using a fork.
ReplyDeleteOh, definitely a swirling technique lol. I love tomato sauce of any kind and probably any kind of pasta lol.

ReplyDeleteUsually eat spaghetti with a fork & swirl it around - like all kind of sauces, but generally go for a chunky tomato or bolognese - once in a while I'll get a creamy cheese sauce.
ReplyDeleteI'm Italian-American and my grandpa taught me to twirl it using a fork and spoon. It's easier to get a tight twirl without messy loose ends.
