Aloha to Diana Cosby and BORN TO BITE

On this day in 1305, William Wallace gave his life for Scotland's freedom,

My Son, Freedom is best, I tell thee true, of all things to be won. Then never live within the Bond of Slavery.

Scotland.

Sigh.

I invited one of my fellow RomVets, Diana Cosby, to share her upcoming release, BORN TO BITE, with Scottish Vampires:

Darkly handsome and dangerously sexy, these voracious vampires are out for blood--and bound for eternal love. . .

Dark Secret by Hannah Howell

Alone in the world, Murdina Dunbar sets out in search of the only family she has left--and finds an ally in the mysterious Sir Gillanders Baldwin. Something about her sexy protector stirs her blood. Soon, not even the whispers that he's a dangerous demon can keep her from his bed. . ..

Never Been Bitten by Erica Ridley

Rumored to be a vampire, the rakish Mr. Macane is ravishing all the ladies of the ton! Yet, Miss Elspeth Ramsay cannot bring herself to tremble in his presence. But once Ellie feels the touch of his teeth at her throat, she finds herself biting him back! Surely this sudden bloodlust can only mean danger for her family--and her heart. . ..

Highland Vampire by Diana Cosby

As King of the Highland Coven, vampire Aedan MacGregor knows that falling for the fey Rowan Campbell could destroy her. But one taste of her healing blood and he craves her like no other. Dare claim her as his own, knowing he might lose her forever?

Kim:  Welcome back to Hawaii, er, SOS Aloha! How did you become involved in this project?

Diana:  I became involved in the Born To Bite anthology with Hannah Howell and Erica Ridley after my editor asked if I would be interested in writing a medieval vampire story. How exciting and a huge honor. I absolutely said, "Yes!"

Kim:  How do you compare working as a writing "team" to working as a Navy team?

Diana: I feel that both working in a writing team as a Navy team are similar in that it's a focused effort that I'm proud to be a part of.

Kim:  How did you research a Highland vampire and a Scottish fey?

Diana:  I love reading stories of vampires and the fey. So, my passion for their tales lent to my muse as well as a wonderful book, "The Silver Bough Volume One Scottish Folk-Lore and Folk Belief," by Marian F. McNeill.

Kim:  When I visited Scotland in 2005 and 2007, I felt something "paranormal", probably ghosts of clansmen, when we toured crumbling castles. Here in Hawaii, I feel something "paranormal", probably the spirits of the Hawaiian warriors. Maybe even Pele!  Have you connected with the unexplained?

Diana:  I'm a firm believer that for various reasons spirits exist. My experiences to date were I felt a spirit were when I was at a writer's conference in Harper's Ferry, WV, and energy when I visited the Witch houses in Salem, MA.

Kim:  What's next for Diana Cosby?

Diana:  After the release of Born To Bite on 28 August, which I'm super psyched about, I'll be writing the final two books in the best-selling MacGruder brothers series, "His Seduction," and "His Enchantment." In addition, as an avid baker, I'm having a blast coming up with a dessert for each MacGruder brother. I'm debating on what to name the collection. Perhaps, "MacGruder Brothers Highland Dessert Extravaganza!"

  11. I've read a couple of Diana's books, and thoroughly enjoyed them.

I went to Scotland for a few weeks back in the 80's and really loved it. The scenery and Lochs are spectacular. I can quite imagine Vampires roaming the highlands many years ago. I'm not normally a fan of modern day vampire stories, but have become enamored of the historical vampires and their stories. I know that it doesn't make sense, but the books are more interesting to me when they have historical settings and figures.

It's very generous of you to donate to the food back Kim.

~:) Fun question, I’d love to know others thoughts. A wee issue on the height difference as Wallace was six foot.

Really looking forward to reading this new book, Diana!

Thank you Leah, I sincerely hope you enjoy. I loved writing my story in Born To Bite. It is truly an honor to write in the anthology with Hannah Howell and Erica Ridley. Have a super day, and I wish you the very best!

~Hi Karen, thank you so much for stopping by. The food banks are so important. A hot meal and a brief reprieve at times is enough to give hope to those who are struggling.

Diana, I wish you much success with Born to Bite.

~Thank you so much, I truly feel blessed. I hope you’re enjoying the weekend, and I wish you the best!
