ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite by Robert Browning:
ReplyDeleteThe year’s at the spring,
And day’s at the morn;
Morning’s at seven;
The hill-side’s dew-pearled;
The lark’s on the wing;
The snail’s on the thorn;
God’s in His heaven --
All’s right with the world!
... I send this same message every year at Christmas and New Year. ^_^
I did not make this one up but it has been a favorite of mine it is from Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare and always reminds me to not judge someone who has gone through something that you have not " He jests at scars who never felt a wound"
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much for the really stunning give away!
My favorite saying is, Be not afraid of the dark, but rather that which hides in the dark.
ReplyDeleteI liked it so much I used to use it as my signature on outgoing emails.
I've been thinking about my Father all day, as he is not terribly well. One of his favourite says is : Common Sense is not so common.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many quotes & proverbs I like that it's difficult to choose one, but there is one that I try to live by: Be yourself; everyone else is already taken (Oscar Wilde).
ReplyDeleteI love Groucho Marx's saying Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.
ReplyDeleteI can't think of one except my father used to always tell me -- What goes around comes around.
ReplyDelete"...and this too shall pass". This saying has seen me through many a dark time. It reminds me that time moves forward and events are always in flux. No matter how bad the future looks, time has a way of putting things into perspective.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the serenity prayer. I use that one a lot when i need strength. I also love the footprints poem. Thanks for the giveaway. Some great stuff you got.

ReplyDelete"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” by Marianne Williamson
Thanks for the awesome giveaway! I love Avon books! Aloha!
ReplyDeleteDidn't make this one up but one that sort of got assigned to me when mom's ex-boss did my astrological charts:
"Many are called but few are chosen
Found this one many years ago that I like... I cannot figure out who came up with it.
Seduce my mind and you can have my body,
Find my soul and I'm yours forever.
