In the Pink with Avon Romance - Avon Addicts Swag

My Avon Addict box arrived!  Let's welcome the Avon swag with Hawaiian blessings!

‘A’OLE E ‘OLELO MAI ANA KE AHI UA ANA IA
Fire will never say that it has had enough.

‘A’A I KA HULA, WAIHO KA HILAHILA I KA HALE
When one wants to dance the hula,
bashfulness should be left at home.

‘A’OHE PU’U KI’EKI’E KE HO’A'O ‘IA E PI’i
No cliff is so tall it cannot be climbed.

‘A’OHE LOKOMAIKA’I I NELE I KE PANA’I
No kind deed has ever lacked its reward.

Let's continue the blessings - can you offer a favorite saying, proverb, or something you have made up?  One randomly selected commenter wins a book choice from my convention stash, loaded with Avon books!  This giveaway is open to all readers.  Comments are open through Saturday, September 22, 10 pm in Hawaii.   I'll post the winner on Sunday, September 23.

Mahalo,

Kim in Hawaii

  2. This is my favorite by Robert Browning:

    The year’s at the spring,
    And day’s at the morn;
    Morning’s at seven;
    The hill-side’s dew-pearled;
    The lark’s on the wing;
    The snail’s on the thorn;
    God’s in His heaven --
    All’s right with the world!

    ... I send this same message every year at Christmas and New Year. ^_^

  3. I did not make this one up but it has been a favorite of mine it is from Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare and always reminds me to not judge someone who has gone through something that you have not " He jests at scars who never felt a wound"

  9. "...and this too shall pass". This saying has seen me through many a dark time. It reminds me that time moves forward and events are always in flux. No matter how bad the future looks, time has a way of putting things into perspective.

  19. This is my favorite:
    "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” by Marianne Williamson
    Thanks for the awesome giveaway! I love Avon books! Aloha!
