Aloha to MISCHIEF AND MISTLETOE: A Holiday Anthology from the Word Wenches

On the first day of October, the book fairy gave to me .... one delicious anthology, MISCHIEF AND MISTLETOE:

In this sparkling holiday collection, eight acclaimed authors unwrap the most daring of Regency delights. . .

Christmastime in England--a time for passionate secrets, delicious whispers, and wicked-sweet gifts by the fire. From a spirited lady who sets out to save her rakish best friend from an unsuitable engagement, to a bold spy who gets the unexpected chance to win the woman he's always loved, to a vicar's daughter who pretends to be a saucy wench, these holiday tales will make you curl up in front of the fire for a memorable season of mischief and mistletoe. . .

The Word Wenches are Jo Beverley, Joanna Bourne, Nicola Cornick, Cara Elliott, Anne GracieSusan King, Mary Jo Putney, and Patricia Rice.  Check out the Word Wenches website (at this link) for posts about the anthology, beginning with Anne Gracie's "genesis" (at this link).

I posted my reiew of MISCHIEF AND MISTLETOE on Amazon (at this link) and Goodreads (at this link).  I am giving away a Hawaiian holiday ornament to one randomly selected commenter.  To enter the giveaway,

1.  Leave a comment about mistletoe - what hero (other than your significant other) would you like to give you kiss on the cheek under the mistletoe?  Yeah, yeah, we're G rated here at SOS Aloha!

Naturally, I'd love to have a peck from any H50 hero - Alex, Scott, Daniel, or Masi!

2.  This giveaway is open to all readers.

3.  Comments are open through Saturday, October 6, 10 pm in Hawaii.  I'll post the winner on Sunday, October 7.

Mahalo,

Kim in Hawaii

The Word Wenches would appreciate today's trivia ... on this day in 1814, the Congress of Vienna opened to settle political affairs following Napoleon's defeat.

  3. Kim--

What fun to see your post about MISCHIEF AND MISTLETOE here! We had so much fun creating the anthology. I hope that readers have equal fun reading it. What struck me is how each of us authors wrote a story that was--pretty much exactly what we usually write, only short. *G* My story featured a stressed out former army officer from the Peninsular wars and a nice vicar's daughter who turns naughty to try to get him out of her system. Happy holidays!

  4. Dad was my hero. He's been gone several years now. I'd love to have him come back and give my cheek a peck under the mistletoe.

  15. Dear Kim, thanks so much for featuring Mischief and Mistletoe. We had such fun doing it, and even though it's blowing a trumpet I own an 8th of, I think it's a lovely collection of stories.
    Waving to you all.

  16. This book sounds like a lovely treat to put in the bag for going away at Christmas time. I have difficulty choosing a hero from a book as they are all so firmly matched in my head with their other halves it feels wrong! Since others have already ventured into TV land, I'll go for Cassanova as played by David Tennant. Or, if we want to get literary, Benedick from Much Ado About Nothing!

  17. I'd take a kiss on the cheek from Gerard Butler, especially if he's wearing a kilt. :D

  18. I wouldn't say no to a kiss from Hugh Jackman.

  19. Even at his age.... Sean Connery. The man has always been hot!!

  20. I have 2 heros, my Dad and my Brother, even though they are no longer with us. I would love to find a man like either of them.
I loved Clark Gable as Rhett Butler in Gone With the Wind one of my first romance books to read and when I saw the movie I was in love with Rhett again. lol
Book sounds like a great read with great authors and I am putting on my wish list.

  21. Mark Harmon or Sean Connery would work, as well as Hugh Jackman. Roarke would be pretty cool, too.
