On the first day of October, the book fairy gave to me .... one delicious anthology, MISCHIEF AND MISTLETOE:
In this sparkling holiday collection, eight acclaimed authors unwrap the most daring of Regency delights. . .
Christmastime in England--a time for passionate secrets, delicious whispers, and wicked-sweet gifts by the fire. From a spirited lady who sets out to save her rakish best friend from an unsuitable engagement, to a bold spy who gets the unexpected chance to win the woman he's always loved, to a vicar's daughter who pretends to be a saucy wench, these holiday tales will make you curl up in front of the fire for a memorable season of mischief and mistletoe. . .

The Word Wenches would appreciate today's trivia ... on this day in 1814, the Congress of Vienna opened to settle political affairs following Napoleon's defeat.

Well....my hero....fictional character would have to be Derek Craven....real life hero....Mister Rogers!
ReplyDeleteFitzwilliam Darcy on the left & Benedict Bridgerton on the right side :D
ReplyDeleteKim--
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to see your post about MISCHIEF AND MISTLETOE here! We had so much fun creating the anthology. I hope that readers have equal fun reading it. What struck me is how each of us authors wrote a story that was--pretty much exactly what we usually write, only short. *G* My story featured a stressed out former army officer from the Peninsular wars and a nice vicar's daughter who turns naughty to try to get him out of her system. Happy holidays!
Dad was my hero. He's been gone several years now. I'd love to have him come back and give my cheek a peck under the mistletoe.
ReplyDeleteGreat review of the book! :) Hmmm... any of the Eloisa James' heros are great.
ReplyDeleteI ditto LSUReader's comment. Would love to see my dad again, if only for a moment.
ReplyDeleteMy future husband hopefully. I'm kinda romantic, so I want to believe in it's magic.
ReplyDeleteRoarke from J.D. Robb's In Death series!
ReplyDeleteNathan Fillian aka Castle - my current crush lol.
ReplyDeleteJoe Manganiello from True Blood. I would love to kiss him under the mistletoe and ... (since G, of course just kissing)lol.
ReplyDeleteThe book sounds great. Lots of great authors, love MaryJo's stories. thanks for the giveaway.

Roarke!
ReplyDeleteI live about 50 miles west of an abundance of mistletoe.
I would like to get a peck by Cullen Bohannon a.k.a. Anson Mount on AMC's Hell on Wheels...boy,is it hot in here?
ReplyDeleteIt would be any of Shannon McKenna's heroes, but if I had to choose one it would be Seth from "Behind Closed Doors."
ReplyDeleteI would love to get a kiss from Henry Cavill. I've had a huge crush on him since I saw him in The Tudors.
ReplyDeleteI would like to kiss Roarke
ReplyDeleteDear Kim, thanks so much for featuring Mischief and Mistletoe. We had such fun doing it, and even though it's blowing a trumpet I own an 8th of, I think it's a lovely collection of stories.
ReplyDeleteWaving to you all.
This book sounds like a lovely treat to put in the bag for going away at Christmas time. I have difficulty choosing a hero from a book as they are all so firmly matched in my head with their other halves it feels wrong! Since others have already ventured into TV land, I'll go for Cassanova as played by David Tennant. Or, if we want to get literary, Benedick from Much Ado About Nothing!
ReplyDeletePaul Walker
ReplyDeleteI'd take a kiss on the cheek from Gerard Butler, especially if he's wearing a kilt. :D
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say no to a kiss from Hugh Jackman.
ReplyDeleteEven at his age.... Sean Connery. The man has always been hot!!
ReplyDeleteI have 2 heros, my Dad and my Brother, even though they are no longer with us. I would love to find a man like either of them.
ReplyDeleteI loved Clark Gable as Rhett Butler in Gone With the Wind one of my first romance books to read and when I saw the movie I was in love with Rhett again. lol
Book sounds like a great read with great authors and I am putting on my wish list.

Mark Harmon or Sean Connery would work, as well as Hugh Jackman. Roarke would be pretty cool, too.
ReplyDeleteI am trying to get used to writing 10 instead of 9, and you already read a Christmas book. Yikes! I feel so behind =)
ReplyDeleteCan I pick a book hero, like Bones from the Night Huntress series? ;)
ReplyDeletei'm a new fans of gini koch book, so i will pick jeff martini :D
ReplyDeleteDavid Gandy and Christopher Evans.
ReplyDeleteHow about a gorgeous kilted Highlander. :) Oh, like Jamie Fraser or any of Karen Marie Moning's Highlanders. lol
ReplyDeleteThis is the first anthology by the Word Wenches isn't it Kim ?
