I am eagerly anticipating the October 30th release of Cathy Maxwell's THE SCOTTISH WITCH from Avon in print (at this link) and ebook (at this link):
When a Chattan male falls in love, strike his heart with fire from above . . .
Portia Maclean believes she is beyond love and marriage. Then one moonlit night, while attempting a daring masquerade in a desperate bid to protect her family, she finds herself swept off her feet by a powerful stranger. But what will he do once he discovers she has betrayed him?
Harry Chattan is fighting for his family. For two hundred years the Chattan men have been destroyed by love . . . and now he's come to Scotland on the hunt for a witch to break the curse. Instead he finds himself bewitched by Portia. Harry has vowed to fight the demons that torture him.
| As backup, I have the Hula Girls chanting for Harry. |
It is Book Two in the Chattan Curse and I have been waiting for Harry to come out and play! To make sure you are prepared, I am giving away Book 1, LYON'S BRIDE, to one randomly selected commenter. To enter the giveaway,

2. This giveaway is open to all readers.

Come back on October 31 for my review and giveaway of THE SCOTTISH WITCH.

I do have a favorite costume to dress up in. It's a Medieval Dress (a replica) and I will dress up in it again for Halloween.
ReplyDeletePlease don't enter me into the contest, as I've already read Lyon's Bride.
Never been to a masquerade, but I would have fun shopping for a mask and costume.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great give-away!
ReplyDeleteLast year was the first time in 19 years that I dressed up for a Halloween party. I went as Little Red Riding Hood :) It was soo much fun to dress up. I love dressing up my children for Halloween. My oldest daughter, she's almost 12, went as Dorothy and she even had the red ruby slippers!!
This year my husband and I are thinking about dressing up as Amy and Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory for a Halloween party!

Masquerades - Actually I like the neat masks. Even the mardi gras ones. So many neat masks out there.

I would love to go to a masquerade, but will it happen probably not. I think would be so much fun. Maybe I should add that to my bucket list.
ReplyDeleteI would like to dress up in any of the fancy dresses in historical times. Maybe a Victorian dress. I always like the intricate details of the masks.
ReplyDeleteI just like dressing up in some historical dresses for something like that. It's always fun! !! :)
ReplyDeleteI've only dressed up for Halloween and usually it's a witch. I use to have long dark hair with a large white streak which was perfect. Now it's grey and that works too lol.
ReplyDeleteNever been to one. But I love all those elaborate costumes from shows like Phantom of the Opera. Lovely, lovely dresses...
ReplyDeleteI love Raggedy Ann. It is a fun costume.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to one, I think it would depend on what I could talk my husband into.

One year my husband and I went to a Halloween party dressed as Merlin and Guenivere. Yes Merlin. He refused to go as Arthur or Lancelot like I wanted so we compromised. We made the costumes his was long and flowing dark blue with gold stars and moons and mine was a dark blue gown with with gold accents. We had a ball.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to one.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to a Halloween costume party or a Masquerade party and no favorite costume.
ReplyDeleteI have never been to a Masquerade party or Halloween costume party. I would love to dress up in a Regency era dress and mask, lots of feathers, etc. I think it would be fun.
ReplyDeleteI like the Victoria dresses.
ReplyDeleteI always think of a Marie Antoinette type costume. The gorgeous gowns & ridiculously ornate wigs.
ReplyDeleteI would love love love to dress as a pumpkin or any fruit of vegetable >_<
ReplyDeleteI have a dress from when I was friends with people who particiated in Feast of the Hunter's Moon in Indiana. It's a recreation of an 18th Century French and Indian trading post on the banks of the Wabash River.
ReplyDeleteI saw a peacock costume once & absolutely loved it :D
ReplyDeleteNever been to a masquerade yet
ReplyDeleteI've always thought it would be fun to dress in a period costume, say from the Regency or Victorian period, for a masquerade. I've never been to one but it seems like it would be fun.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to a masquerade but it sure seems like it would be fun.
ReplyDeleteNever been but i would love to go or at least peak in to people watch :)
ReplyDeleteI have never been to a masquerade, but I think I would love to be Aphrodite. :)
ReplyDeleteThey sound like so much fun!
I have never been to one! *_______*
ReplyDeleteShame I know! But I would love to! It looks really fun!
I've never been to a masquerade and so I don't have any costumes, let alone a favourite one. I guess any costume would do as I'd imagine they would all be elegant and great fun :)
ReplyDeleteLots of great books are being released on the 30th. If only Walmart would put them out on time and carry them. They have a small selection and I so miss borders. Cathy's book looks good.
