Aloha to Jill Mansell and A WALK IN THE PARK

I discovered romance books while living in the Netherlands.  As soon as I read through the  American romances, I traded them for British romances with the UK Delegation.   Those lovely ladies - true, true ladies - turned me onto brilliant authors like Jill Mansell. I was thrilled to review Jill's A WALK IN THE PARK, released in the US by Sourcebooks:

Lara Carson left her family and boyfriend Flynn eighteen years ago without a word to anyone. Why has no one heard from her since? Does it mean anything that she's suddenly reappeared in Bath just in time for her ex–best friend Evie's wedding? And what about Flynn? Even the most eagle–eyed observer can't tell whether he's happy to see her, or just stunned.

While secrets pile up on secrets, and the gossip mill wings into high gear, the brand–new life Lara's searching for becomes ever more elusive. There's a lot of catching up for everyone to do, and Lara's return is going to be anything but a walk in the park.

I walk daily to the Aloha Aina Park with the
Missing Man Formation.

A WALK IN THE PARK is now available on Kindle and will be available in paperback on November 6.   I posted my five star review on Goodreads at this link.   I gave my ARC to another Brit (as it would be blasphemous to do otherwise).   The book has several scenes during the holiday season ... so I am giving away a Hawaiian holiday tote bag with British goodies.  To enter the giveaway,

1.  Leave a comment about something that is a "walk in the park" for you - what can you do easily?  I type circles around my henpecking children!

2.  This giveaway is open to all readers.

3.  Comments are open through Saturday, November 3, 10 pm in Hawaii.  I'll post the winner on Sunday, November 4.

Mahalo,

Kim in Hawaii

  1. Baking cookies is a walk in the park for me. Ive been doing it for a long time. Mixing the dough and quickly roling it out.... Simple but lovely to do. Baking was a special thing to do for me as a kid. Ginger cookies being one of my favs no matter what time of year it was. I remember making them when it was summer, wearing a sundress and shades :D

I still love doing it and I will be baking some new year cookies this week. I found a new recipe I'm eager to try out. It's going to be good fun I think :D

  4. I'm pretty good at organizing.
I kick myself for giving away a few of Jill's books when I first got them a few years ago. Now, I'm regretting giving them away for an auction - at least it was for a good cause.

  5. Reading a 300+ paged book in a span of 24 hours is a walk in the park for me (if I don't have anything to do, which doesn't happen a lot).

  7. Arithmetic is a walk in the park for me. I always add, count, multiply in my head. Mainly I try to give away all the small coins when shopping. Don't want to carry them around.

  10. Knitting is a walk in the park for me. I have always been able to work a pattern with no problem. I stick to baby blankets and scarves, great gifts, but a complicated sweater is no big deal. I thank my mother and my aunt for teaching me when I was really young.
